ACSC 2018 | Former Kansas governor John Carlin

April 25 @ 1:45 pm - 2:45 pm

John Carlin served as Governor of Kansas from 1979 to 1987 and Archivist of the United States and chair of the National Archives and Records Administration from 1995 to 2005. Join us for a discussion about his tenure as AOTUS, which began with a strategic plan to tackle the growing challenges of electronic records management and access, as well as encouraging public awareness of and engagement with NARA collections. Carlin’s keynote will be moderated by Dole Institute assistant director and senior archivist Audrey Coleman. This conversation will be followed by Q&A with the audience and is free and open to the public.

This event is part of the programming slate for the Association of Centers for the Study of Congress annual meeting. The meeting is three days of workshops, panel presentations and roundtable discussions that highlight innovative programming initiatives, pioneering research and continuing challenges relating to the preservation of the personal papers of United States senators and representatives. This year’s theme is “New Frontiers in Engagement.”
