Discover with Dole: “Wall of Respect” Special Edition

January 5 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Join the Dole Institute for a special edition of Discover with Dole, an interactive and kid-friendly day at the museum. Kids in attendance can explore the Wall of Respect, a temporary exhibit hosted in partnership with the Jewish Community Center of Greater Kansas City.

At 11 a.m., project director Jill Maidhof will lead an interactive educational program for students. Guests can share stories about their culture, tour the exhibit’s 12-foot yurt and challenge themselves with hands-on activities. All ages are welcome at this free event.

Regular Discover with Dole activities will be available from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., including crafts, puzzles, coloring, and museum gallery activities.

The Wall of Respect is a unique installation informed by stories from our community and created by selected artists overseeing the work of youth and adults from all over the Kansas City metro area. The piece acknowledges the commonalities between and celebrate the unique cultural contributions to Kansas City made by the Native American, Jewish, African American, Latino/Hispanic and Asian communities living among us.
