Former congressman to discuss US-Iran foreign relations

March 24, 2015 – The Dole Institute of Politics at the University of Kansas will host former U.S. Rep. Jim Slattery, D-Kan., to give a talk on his recent trip to Iran, hope for successful nuclear talks and a crucial people-to-people aspect of U.S.-Iran relations.

2015 Dole Lecture to feature U.S. Rep. Lynn Jenkins

March 11, 2015 – Republican Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins will give the annual Dole Lecture at the Dole Institute of Politics at the University of Kansas this April. Jenkins will be interviewed on her national leadership position in Congress, what’s happening in Washington, D.C., today, and women’s leadership.

March 10, 2015 – The Dole Institute of Politics at the University of Kansas will host Frank Calzon, executive director of the Center for a Free Cuba, and Marifeli Perez-Stable, professor at Florida International University, in a moderated discussion on the issue of formal U.S. political recognition of the island country of Cuba.

Dole Institute hosts documentarian on agriculture in the Dust Bowl Era

March 3, 2015 – The Dole Institute of Politics at the University of Kansas will screen the documentary “Harvesting the High Plains” at 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 10. This documentary chronicles the challenges two men faced, searching for a way to harvest in the midst of the Dust Bowl Era.

Dole Institute introduces new afternoon series

February 19, 2015 – The Dole Institute of Politics at the University of Kansas has announced the launch of its new Director’s Series. Programs are selected based on diverse political topics that are of particular interest to the institute’s director.

February 18, 2015 – The Dole Instituteof Politics’ Robert J. Dole Archive and Special Collections is partnering with the KU and Washburn alumni associations to present “Your Story, His Story, the Legacy: Snapshots in Time from the Dole Archives.”
