The Dole Forum is a major part of the Institute’s educational programming efforts to reach the students at the University of Kansas and the surrounding regional community. It consists of ongoing programs covering a wide variety of topics designed to encourage political participation among young people through education and civil discussion. Dole Forums are designed to be topically diverse in order to illustrate that politics play a role in nearly all aspects of life.
Among the national personalities the Dole Forum has hosted are Republican strategist Matthew Dowd, ABC’s Kate Snow, former New Jersey Governor Christine Todd Whitman, Democratic Strategist Donna Brazile, West Wing producer Alex Graves, former Iraq commander and former Director of the CIA Gen. David Petraeus, former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, and Vice President Joseph Biden.
The Dole Institute provides a forum for discussion, but does not endorse the political positions or personal opinions of its guests.
