2009 Presidential Lecture Series – Ten Score: Abraham Lincoln’s Legacy

To commemorate the 200th anniversary of President Lincoln’s birth and explore Lincoln’s legacy, the 2009 Presidential Lecture Series features four of the nation’s leading Lincoln experts. These noted historians present a whole picture of the 16th president, viewed by many to be America’s greatest.

“Lincoln: A Life”
Featuring Michael Burlingame, a professor emeritus at Connecticut College, discusses his long-awaited two-volume biography of Honest Abe.

Tuesday, March 3
“A. Lincoln”
Featuring Los Angeles-based historian Ron White

Thursday, March 12
“Lincoln & The Copperheads”
Featuring a look at Lincoln’s challenging 1864 campaign for re-election with KU’s own assistant professor of history Jennifer Weber.
