The U.S. fiscal house stands on shaky ground. Marked by a federal debt that has eclipsed $34 trillion, growing annual deficits, persistent inflation, and rising interest costs, Americans are increasingly frustrated by both the risks they present as well as the partisan gridlock in Washington over how to address them. America’s fiscal challenge is even more acute today given the significant economic issues that the 119th Congress and next administration will immediately face including the debt limit, tax reform, and Social Security and Medicare solvency, to name a few.
