Born in the sunflower state, Sam split time in her youth between Colorado and Kansas before settling in Lawrence for college. After completing her undergraduate degree in Art History, Sam spent several years working in administrative and clinical positions in the University of Kansas Health System. Over the last decade, she served as a Pathology Specialist in the Pathology Lab at Lawrence Memorial Hospital before joining the Dole Institute as Office Manager in August 2024.

In her spare time, Sam enjoys hiking, playing tennis and soccer with her kids, and cooking with friends and family.
