LAWRENCE, KS – The Robert J. Dole Institute of Politics at the University of Kansas has announced panelists for the 2024 Post Election Conference on Wednesday, December 11.
Held biennially after midterm and general elections, the Dole Institute’s Post Election Conference brings journalists, practitioners, and experts together to analyze campaigns and election results in Kansas and throughout the country, and what they’ll mean for the next two years. For the first time, the National Panel will be co-moderated by former Washington Executive Editor of the Wall Street Journal Jerry Seib and Dole Institute Director Emeritus Bill Lacy.
Last month, the Institute hosted the conference’s Kansas Panel, moderated by Kansas City Star lead political reporter Jonathan Shorman, and featured KCUR news director Lisa Rodriguez, Republican strategist Eric Pahls, and Johnson County Democrats executive director Cole Robinson.
“We started the Post Election Conference 20 years ago to closely examine how elections are won and lost,” said Bill Lacy, Dole Institute Director Emeritus. “The 2024 election cycle was highly unique, and we plan to show attendees why it was and what the outcome means.”
“The 2024 election will go down in history as one of the least predictable, most consequential of our time, and historians will be examining how it all happened for years to come,” said Jerry Seib, Dole Institute Visiting Fellow. “At this conference, we will have an early chance to tell that story, with a distinguished panel of participants and observers.”
Panelists for the Post Election Conference’s National Panel are listed below:
“The unique perspectives these journalists, pollsters, strategists, and consultants bring to the Post Election Conference will reveal inside strategies of both campaigns and assess their impacts on the final result,” said Dole Institute Director Audrey Coleman. “We look forward to gaining new insights in the discussions hosted by Bill and Jerry.”
The Post Election Conference’s National Panel will be held at the Dole Institute of Politics on Wednesday, December 11, from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The program will be streamed live on the Institute’s website and YouTube Channel.
